How NinjaTrader 8 automation works
A HuntersAlgo strategy is native NinjaScript (C#). It runs tick-by-tick inside your NinjaTrader 8 install and routes orders directly to your broker — so fills are fast and there is no copy-trade master account in the loop. Because everything executes locally, there is no broker API integration and HuntersAlgo never touches your account.
You can validate any strategy the same way it was built: in the NinjaTrader 8 Strategy Analyzer, with tick-level data and walk-forward optimization, before you ever risk a dollar. When you are ready, the same parameters carry straight to live or sim.

Every strategy ships with backtest figures and a hypothetical-performance disclosure — not screenshots of a single good day. For example, HunterBreakOut backtested 533 trades on NQ at a 66% win rate, 1.62 profit factor, and 0.97 Sharpe. Backtests are not live results, which is exactly why the 3-day trial exists.

What is automated trading on NinjaTrader 8?

Do I need to know how to code NinjaScript?
No. Every HuntersAlgo strategy is already written, compiled, and parameter-driven. You configure session windows, exit mode, risk filters, and position sizing from the strategy dialog — no C# required. Each parameter has a backtest-proven default so you can go live in minutes.
Does the strategy run on HuntersAlgo servers or my machine?
On your machine. The NinjaScript runs inside your own NinjaTrader 8 install against your own broker connection. There is no broker API integration, no copy-trade, and no signal service — HuntersAlgo never sees your credentials, your orders, or your balance. You own the configuration and the outcome.
Which futures markets do the strategies trade?
Primarily NQ and ES (and their micros MNQ/MES), gold (GC), and silver (SI). Individual strategies are tuned per market — for example HunterGC for gold and HunterSI for silver — while the index strategies focus on NQ and ES.
Is automation allowed on prop-firm evaluations?
Because the strategy runs locally with no broker API and no copy-trade integration, it is indistinguishable from manual trading from a prop firm’s perspective. Each firm publishes its own rules, so review your prop firm’s policy directly. Most evaluation accounts permit automation when no API or copy-trade integration is involved.
